UMA Infant Massage
The most beautiful gift a parent can give their infant is the gift of loving touch
Touch is said to be the first sense that develops while the baby is secure in the womb.
By learning to massage their infants, parents can provide their babies with the same feeling of security and Attachment Parenting.
The first attachment relationship that an infant cultivates leaves an imprint for future relationships in the infant's life.
Evidence Based Research tells us that:
Practicing the Infant Massage routine with babies can have various health benefits such as reducing crying, relaxing the baby and aiding in improving sleep patterns. It also strengthens bonding with parents and affects hormones that control stress according to the Mayo Clinic. A research review conducted by the National Institutes of Health concluded that pre-term infant massage therapy has led to weight gain in pre-term infants when moderate pressure was applied during massage.
In an Infant massage class, the Infant Massage Instructor demonstrates all the massage techniques on a doll and parents learn to massage on their babies.
This program is for babies between ages 0-12 months.
Parents will learn:
Different massage techniques & strokes for each body part.
